Here's another video showing how the digital media expounds on the power play between students and teachers. In this particular Glee clip, the Glee club (students) found an incriminating video of a teacher (Ms Sue Sylvester) they generally disliked and posted it on Youtube to 'let her get a taste of some of the humiliation she puts [them] through'.
By the way, if you're interested to see what happens next, you can do so by watching Episode 15 of the Glee Series titled 'The Power of Madonna'.

I watch Glee and Sue is definitely the meanest teacher in school! She has her humanistic side but that's not portrayed when she is with her students.
Regarding this video, I feel that it is due to the strong dislike students have for her which spurred them to doing this - giving her a taste of her own medicine. The lack of rapport between them is what sparked off their posting of the video.
If the video was Will Schuester's, I doubt that the students would do something like that. Hence, I feel that regarding such issues, it is the mutual respect between both parties that is the key.
Hey Bernice!
I agree with you. It's too bad that Sue doesn't show her humanistic side to the rest of the school as she can be pretty nice if she sets her heart and mind to it.
And I guess you're right too about Will Schuester. It's just like the video of the NTU lecturer. I don't think that the student who first posted the video online intended it as a ploy to 'humiliate' his/her lecturer. It was probably to share the humorous part of the lecture. As seen in the link at the side, most of the comments given were also positive. :)
Yes, good rapport between teachers and students does help to a certain extend.
however, in this world there are some who will like you and some who don't. it happens that the student who posted it may not particularly like the teacher.
so, advice to people who have funny fetishes for filming themselves doing unusual stuff: be cautious, take precautions, take ownership of your private videos, get a lock for their blogs and only allow certain people to view it, and always prepare yourself mentally. sometimes there are just darn good hackers who can do the impossible if they try really hard to break into your private life/profile.
Hey Clara, totally agreed. Some students are just too good at 'googling' you up. Hahahaha. I have friends who had students adding them up on FB just by searching their names. Have you tried to 'google' your own name to find 'digital hidden transcripts' of yourself? Do try! Haha.
Yeah. Sometimes I can really be afraid of the Internet cause I won't know what stuff might appear that has something to do with me. Now now, I'm not being self-centred but really, just paranoid. I'm not sure about you but I don't think I'll ever add my students on Facebook. Which also brings to mind, would you add your teacher? Cos psstt... you know Ludwig's in mine but you and I know that he's SUPER NICE and AWESOME :))
P.S. And that's why I'm smellyfarrt because I don't want my name appearing on Google or anywhere
Is'nt it just scary... I am. The WWW is so open and you may not know what other things may be said about you out there (unless you constantly googling your own name and try to keep up with the changes).
It makes me vunerable and at the same time be cautious of what I am doing. Check! Check! But wouldn't it be limiting my personality. I guess if we don't mind the extra attention, just flaunt it then....
P.S. Good job hiding, Smellyfarrt. Nice name btw. Hahahh...
I guess the students did what they did not just because Sue was mean but also because of the fact that she is completely not receptive to any form of criticism.
And i guess we are just as vulnerable. But i feel that so long as we establish rapport with our students and maintain clear communications and keep our minds open, we can minimise issues like this from happening. :)
